North Korea War Flag

North Korea's National Flag: A Symbol of Communism and Peace

History and Significance

The North Korean national flag, known as the Morning Star Flag, is a potent symbol of the country's ideology and aspirations. Adopted in 1948, the flag consists of a broad red stripe in the center, flanked by narrower blue stripes at the top and bottom.

Red Stripe and Five-pointed Star

The red stripe represents the country's commitment to communism and the socialist revolution. A five-pointed star, also in red, is positioned in the center of the stripe. The star symbolizes the country's communist party and the aspirations of the working class.

Blue Stripes

The blue stripes symbolize the country's commitment to peace. They also represent the sea that surrounds North Korea on three sides and the hope for peaceful reunification with South Korea.
