Amidst heightened tensions due to a wave of bomb threats, Ukraine, with the aid of US anti-aircraft weapons, has been successfully taking down Russian aircraft flying within Ukrainian airspace.
The US, however, remains hesitant to provide Ukraine with US-made tanks, citing concerns over the Ukrainian troops' lack of familiarity with the vehicles.
Nonetheless, in a show of support, the US is nearing the signing of a new bilateral security pact with Ukraine, aiming to alleviate tensions and reassure Kyiv after recent strained relations.
Meanwhile, according to a US official, Ukraine has recently employed US weapons to strike targets within Russian territory.
